Experience the bold craftsmanship of artisans and creators shaped by Iwami, western Shimane.

SUKIMONO, a design and revitalisation collective from wami, Shimane, is proud to present its first Tokyo-based experimental exhibition: IWAMI TRIBE.

Who is the "IWAMI TRIBE"? They are the modern artisans and creators of Iwami — a community bound by a creative "Life Stance." Beyond mere efficiency, they prioritize the soul and struggle inherent in the making process, believing that true craftsmanship moves the heart.
The Exhibition This showcase goes beyond product display. It is an invitation to experience the philosophy and passion of Iwami craftsmanship. Discover a refined aesthetic and a vision for the future, born from the raw energy of rural Japan.

Where city meets region, maker meets user—over three transformative days.

The exhibition venue, Telling Cafe & Gallery, was established as a space to experience—through all five senses—the forms of Japanese creativity worth passing on to future generations.
At a time when values around consumption are undergoing a profound shift, this exhibition reframes the Iwami region through the lens of creative making rooted not in efficiency or utility alone, but in the hands, bodies, emotions, and pride of the makers themselves. By doing so, it presents Iwami as a regionally driven creative model—one that opens toward the city as a concrete example of a next-generation, circular economy.
In addition to the exhibition, the program introduces immersive, stay-based initiatives that go beyond conventional tourism, including “Nursery School Study Abroad®” programs in the Iwami area and art-based training programs for companies.
