Highlight 1: Site-specific new works by four contemporary artists active in Japan and abroad

Physical performance by Aokid, installations by Takehiro Iikawa, video by Minao Iguchi, and patchwork by Tatsuru Hatayama. Four contemporary artists illuminating the modern art scene unveil newly commissioned works inspired by Chofu’s urban landscape, architecture, and history. We navigate daily life within a world framed by our own accumulated thoughts and experiences; these powerful artistic expressions reveal the vast reality that unfolds just beyond the limits of our familiar world.

Highlight 2: Art spills into the streets of Chofu for a limited time

This exhibition unfolds across two distinct environments: "NAKA"(Inside) (centered around Chofu City Cultural Hall Tazukuri) and "SOTO"(Outside) (expanding into the urban landscape, including the Chofu Station Square, from Friday, November 13 to Sunday, November 15). The "OUTSIDE" area will feature walk-in workshops, live performances, and outdoor video screenings. By wandering between "INSIDE" and "OUTSIDE" to experience these simultaneously erupting artistic expressions, visitors are invited to feel firsthand that "even where you can’t see it, something is always going on."

Highlight 3: Tracing the journey of "TENJISHITSU Project," an art initiative born in Chofu

Centering on the theme of "transforming ('tenji') together through understanding," the TENJISHITSU Project has been active since 2024—archiving local art and community insights while hosting guest artist talks and interactive workshops. Within the "NAKA" (Inside) space at the Chofu City Cultural Hall Tazukuri (1F Exhibition Room), this archive invites visitors to reflect on the project’s lineage while introducing pioneering local artists and creative spaces based in Chofu.
