KOTARO NUKAGA Roppongi is pleased to present a group exhibition ‘Ensemble #3 – Winter Show 2026‘, from January 31 to February 21, 2026.
This exhibition focuses on the theme of the wriggle of images, presenting works that capture the physical impulses at the moment images emerge, the silent memories accumulated in space, or the fundamental narratives of mythology, and materializing them into visible forms.
Takehito Koganezawa presents his “ddds” series, created through a unique rule of layering two sheets of paper and drawing points, lines, and planes only in the overlapping areas, as well as a drawing installation.
Furthermore, the exhibition features works by Nir Hod, who creates images where fragility and beauty coexist, based on old found photographs; photographic works by Candida Höfer that eliminate human presence from public spaces and bring forth the memories inherent in the architecture itself; mosaic paintings by Kyoji Takubo, active as a Post Mono-ha generation artist and known for his restoration project of the “La Chapelle des Pommiers” in France; paintings by Akiko Ueda that incorporate unpredictable changes and improvisation through multiple layers of images; and works by Rember Yahuarcani depicting hummingbirds that appear in the mythology of the Uitoto Nation of northern Amazonia in South America, his ancestral roots.
Through this exhibition, we invite you to witness the vivid resonance of each artist’s process of bringing images to life.
