This work depicts ants climbing over a cigarette butt. When I go for walks, I often see ants walking across discarded cigarette ends. Watching them, I’m struck by how they move over whatever lies on the ground without a second thought.
It feels reassuring—like the object is freed from its meaning or function and returns to being just a shape.
