Amer Nasser
Palestinian photographer and filmmaker, born in 1991 in Gaza, is known for producing and directing films that depict the reality of Palestinian refugees and the political, social, and economic situation of Palestinians in Gaza. He has worked as a producer for the UNRWA channel, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
In parallel, he has produced and directed several documentary and fiction films, such as "Sara" (feature film, 2014) and "Gaza Small Studio" (2015), which was selected for the Dubai International Film Festival and the Alexandria Film Festival. In 2016, the film "Paper Boat," which he produced, won the Best Film award at the Palest' In&Out Festival at the Arab World Institute in Paris, earning him a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Nasser has also served as an assistant director for the short film "Condom Lead" (2013), which was officially selected at the Cannes Film Festival. He is a member of the Red Carpet Film Festival for Human Rights team in Gaza and regularly collaborates with directors Arab & Tarzan Nasser. In this capacity, he is the screenwriter for their upcoming film, "Once Upon a Time in Gaza" (2024), which received funding from the French CNC (National Center for Cinema) and the European fund Eurimages. He is also the co-screenwriter of the film "About Yakeen" (2026) by the Nasser Brothers.
In 2023, his photographic work was exhibited in "What Palestine Brings to the World" exhibition at the Arab World Institute in Paris. In November 2024, the exhibition "GAZA: SIGNAL OF LIFE" was held at the Tokyo University of the Arts, co-organized by Mōri lab, Graduate School of Global Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts.
