Iemura Seminar

Iemura Seminar (@Art Study department of Tama Art University) has long used the name "Iemura Seminar Exhibition" to refer to the entire process of trial and error that emerges among artists, students, faculty, and surrounding participants through the act of creation. Although it includes the word "exhibition," it does not refer to a completed exhibition itself, but rather to the entire process and dynamic movement heading toward it. In other words, the "Iemura Seminar Exhibition" is not a conventional exhibition with a predetermined final form that participants aim to realize, but rather a kind of art project. Since 2017, the art project "Iemura Seminar" has been carried out once a year with an artist alongside third- and fourth-year undergraduate students. Iemura Seminar 2020:Teppei Kaneuji's Good Ventilation — Beyond 360° — Iemura Seminar 2021:This Year, Tomoyasu Murata. — Star Star Star — Iemura Seminar 2022:Ryuji Nakamura: Exhibiting the Exhibition Space Iemura Seminar 2023: with Rieko Hidaka’s Paintings in Natural Light” Art-Theque, Tama Art University Archive Center, Tokyo, Japan Iemura Seminar 2024: with Rieko Otake’s Sculptures in Natural Light” Art-Theque, Tama Art University Archive Center, Tokyo, Japan Iemura Seminar 2025: Ryuji Nakamura, with Films in Natural Light”Art-Theque, Tama Art University Archive Center, Tokyo, Japan The venue is the 1st floor of the Art-Theque Gallery (approximately 520 square meters, with parts reaching a ceiling height of 9 meters), established on the Hachioji Campus in 2015. Starting in the 2024 academic year, designer Nanami Norita joined as an adjunct lecturer, bringing new creative endeavors to the visual elements, including public relations.
