Galerie Taménaga was founded in 1969 in Ginza, Tokyo, as a gallery specializing in works ranging from Impressionism to Contemporary Art. For over half a century, it has introduced numerous masterpieces to museums and collectors both in Japan and abroad.
In 1971, the gallery expanded with new locations in Paris and Osaka, followed by the opening of a Kyoto branch in 2021. In Autumn 2025, Galerie Taménaga will relocate from its birthplace in Ginza to a new space in Minami-Aoyama’s Kotto-dori, a vibrant art hub, expanding its exhibition area to three times its original size.
Today, each of our galleries presents works by artists from around the world and we are increasingly focused on showcasing Japanese artists. Through these efforts, Galerie Taménaga continues to play a significant role in the art world.
