Yoshie Kuroda Solo Exhibition "Symbiosis"

YOD TOKYO is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Yoshie Kuroda, titled “Symbiosis”.
 
ーArtist Statementー
The “Mokemokemono,” which I have been continuously creating, are imaginary creatures created by making animal and human body parts from discarded clothing and joining them together, and are like our alter egos that are constantly seeking answers to our uncertain existence.
Discarded clothing is an existence that accumulates all kinds of events and memories together with its owner, and at the same time, I believe it is a metaphor for the dead. They are beings that have experienced both life and death, and like a messenger that sometimes moves freely between the two and tells us what they are like.
This exhibition will include new works created with the idea of the connections we form with others as we go about our daily lives.
