This exhibition brings together approximately 50 photographs by Uruma Takezawa, spanning from his early body of work Walkabout to his latest series, Boundary.

Captured across South America, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific, these images center on the idea of “the land.” Here, the land is not only vast natural scenery, but also the people who live within it.

From the depths of dense, overgrown jungles to settlements beyond sandstorms—across mountains and seas—the photographs trace encounters with people along the way. Living far from our everyday realities, they honor their traditions and cultures, dwelling in close embrace with the natural world.

In these places, human beings exist as part of the land itself. When our gaze meets theirs, the familiar division between “nature” and “humanity” quietly dissolves.

This photography exhibition presents, through the motif of the land, an essential beauty born from the relationship between nature and humankind, while inviting viewers into a world that lies beyond all boundaries of nation, race, religion, and ideology.
