ADF Art Gallery Project Vol.48 | Yukie Osa Solo Exhibition “Being Here, Being There”
Sep 18 — Oct 7, 2026
ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) presents artist Yukie Osa's solo exhibition "Being Here, Being There" as the 48th edition of the "ADF Art Gallery Project" from September 18 to October 7, 2026, at GARDE Gallery in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Osa, an artist who travels around the world while depicting the two sides of everyday life, presents works under the theme "Being Here, Being There." A reception will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and everyone is welcome to attend. She reflects on how the COVID-19 pandemic revealed that the everyday life we often take for granted is never permanent, but constantly changing. At the core of her practice is the duality inherent in things: “kindness” and “cruelty,” “joy” and “pain.” Embracing both sides is seen as part of what it means to live, an idea explored primarily through animal motifs. She works across a wide range of materials and techniques, including “wood-carved paintings,” in which carved wooden panels are painted directly rather than used for printing, as well as oil painting, ceramics, fabric, and leather. Through works that move between two and three dimensions, this exhibition explores our ever-changing everyday lives and the opposing emotions and values that coexist within them.
