On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, interior design company GARDE will open a new art gallery in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood, "GoCA (Gallery of Contemporary Art) by Garde," on January 30, 2025. 2,400 square feet of space," GoCA by Garde" will serve as a base for promoting Japanese and Asian artists to the U.S. and the world through a diverse range of contemporary artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and ceramics.

The opening "GoCA by Garde" exhibition will feature "KAN-SHA BOUQUETS!", the latest "Flowers" series, by Yuta Okuda, a young artist representing contemporary Japanese neo-pop. Okuda's artworks, with their powerful brush strokes, vivid colors, and delicate lines, express the fragility and beauty of existence and the exquisite harmony of "coincidence" and "inevitability."

Okuda depicts the idea of "being thankful for the happiness we have now," symbolized by a single flower. The influence of his grandfather, a gardener, naturally instilled in her the habit of giving flowers to those close to him, and the preciousness of everyday life, which he was reminded of after the coronavirus disaster, is now expressed through the motif of flowers. This exhibition will allow viewers to share the precious happiness of the casual time spent with one's family through Okuda's works.
