Jun 5 — 19, 2026
ADF (Aoyama Design Forum) is pleased to present the 43rd edition of its “ADF Art Gallery Project,” the four-person exhibition Generic Foods by shiraki, ZENZABURO, Tamaki Miyase, and Momo Matsuno, at GARDE Gallery in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, from June 5 to June 19, 2026. The opening reception will be held on Friday, June 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please feel free to join
In this exhibition, four artists working across different disciplines come together to explore contemporary food culture through their own unique perspectives, sparked by questions surrounding a food system increasingly shaped by replication and efficiency. Participating artists include shiraki, who challenges existing values through installation and fashion; ZENZABURO, who creates intimate scenes as “interior paintings” that bring a sense of comfort into everyday life; Tamaki Miyase, who draws on information engineering to create environment-responsive wearable works that imagine future forms of humanity; and Momo Matsuno, who creates tile-based artworks centered on food motifs. Through their distinct artistic practices, the artists humorously examine the relationship between us and the symbolic nature of food, eating habits, and taste.
By engaging with these works, visitors are invited to reconsider everyday acts such as making, exchanging, and consuming food. In doing so, the familiar scenery of supermarkets and daily dining tables may begin to appear just a little differently than before.
shiraki
Currently enrolled in the Global Art Practice master’s program at Tokyo University of the Arts, shiraki also studied at coconogacco while attending Musashino Art University. Focusing on the beauty and fascination of overlooked everyday objects and things that have lost their original roles, the artist questions established systems of value and perception. With an emphasis on the relationship between artwork and viewer, shiraki primarily works through installation and fashion.
