KID ROSE solo exhibition "Fully Open"

WISH LESS gallery is thrilled to announce Japanese graphic artist KID ROSE's first solo exhibition, Fully Open.
Rather than exhibiting works created toward a predetermined finished form, Fully Open is an attempt to present the very process of making―creating without a fixed destination―as the artwork itself.
The exhibition title, Fully Open, originates from a personal episode connected to Katsushika, the district at the core of KID ROSE's identity, where shadows and humor intertwine.
Working as a designer, KID ROSE has developed a strong interest in the way the Japanese writing system―particularly kanji―has evolved from pictographic origins, with images gradually transforming and accumulating into written characters. To him, what matters is not the completed character itself, but the process through which it takes shape.
At the same time, he is interested in today's media environment, where social media flattens all forms of information and expression onto the same screen, reducing completed images to consumable symbols.
Through the filter of his own identity, rooted in Katsushika, this exhibition brings together the formative process of Japanese writing and the contemporary media landscape, presenting the act of becoming itself as the artwork.
Fully Open is an exhibition that embraces an open, ever-changing state rather than a finished conclusion. We warmly invite you to visit.

KID ROSE
Tokyo-based graphic artist, born in 2000 in Katsushika, Tokyo.
After graduating from Kuwasawa Design School in 2024, KID ROSE has been working independently, expanding the practice from graphic design into spatial design.
